Everything is illuminated

An international group enjoyed film and conversation about the past and identity at our church film group at Methodist International house on Sunday evening.

Everything is Illuminated is a quirky film which plays with stereotypes –the Ukrainian bigot takes the Jewish geek to find his family story.

Predictably friendships are made, yet the plot still surprises.  The conversation ranged from the historical, and geographical dimensions to issues around stereotyping.

Anyone else seen it and care to comment?

Our next film, in February is “The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros”
