“I wish everyone had dinner”

Blowing in the breeze in the playground at St Chrysostom’s Primary School are some beautiful prayer flags, made by Reception class. Reading each of them is a moving experience.

Each child has given careful thought to their ‘wish’ for the world. The children, aged 4 and 5 have great sensitivity to people and the world around them and wonderful insights into what our world needs to make it a better place…

“I wish there are no more earthquakes and no more buildings fall down.” (Patrick)

“I wish that all animals get better.” (Kieron)

“I wish that everyone listens to the teacher”. (No name – perhaps it was Miss Turnbull!)

“I wish that everyone had dinner”. (Ayat)

“I wish people in Japan are safe and not hurt” (Jasmin)

“I wish people don’t throw rubbish” (Olivia)

“I wish I can take care of all the creatures” (Aisya)

What is your ‘wish’ for the world?
