What do you get if you cross 4 very different churches, 16 people from across the UK, stories of life, faith and journeys, and Curry Mile?
The SCP Vocations Weekend 2011! A weekend sponsored by the Society of Catholic Priests and hosted by St Chrysostom’s Church, for people considering God’s call in their lives. We welcomed people from Southwark, York, Sheffield, Gosport, Cheshire, Gloucestershire, Bristol to Manchester for a wet (welcome to Manchester!) but enjoyable weekend exploring vocations to ordained ministry. In addition to reflections together with guest speakers and enjoying social time together, the group visited a diverse range of churches and priests working in what are perhaps challenging yet inspiring ministries.
“Just got back after an amazing vocations weekend. It helped me to focus my calling by sharing experiences with other colleagues who are on the same journey. Witnessing some inspiring church work in the local helped me a great deal. Saturday night we took full advantage of the “Curry Mile” and relaxed. On Sunday we attended Mass at St Chrysostom’s, and over lunch we met Bishop Mark and the chance to ask questions . The weekend closed with prayer and Benediction. Great weekend a must for all considering vocation.” John
