During May (‘Mary’s month’) we supported the charity Mary’s Meals at Church.
We invited people in our local area to help as well. We’ve had a great response with money given or events planned – a wedding collection, local halls of residence raising money, schools having assemblies and ‘dressing down’ days, all showing what a diverse and generous community St Chrysostom’s is at the heart of!
Any amount, small or great, makes a difference.
£10 given to Mary’s Meals gives a child in a developing country school dinners for a year.
20p gives a week’s worth of school dinners.
On top of feeding the children for many of them the guarantee of a daily meal brings the children to school every day.
Amazing facts – especially when we consider school dinners in Manchester cost £10 for a week.
THANK YOU to everyone who is responding to our challenge to support Mary’s meals in May!
Together we have raised £1208.27 which is 30,207 school meals!
