Going to the dogs?

As part of our ‘try something new’ programme at Church an enthusiastic group of 12 church members made the short trip to Belle Vue dog racing track.

At £12 per person, which included a drink, a meal, a lucky draw and a race program we couldn’t complain with the value for money.

The racing track was filled with both hardened and novice gamblers of all ages. The atmosphere was electric with winners galore.

We wandered track side for a few races and we could see the sand flying up in the air from the speed of the greyhounds passing over it.

It was the first time I had ever been to ‘the dogs.’ It was both  an exciting and enjoyable new experience.

Quotes: “All those who had a flutter won at least one race!”
“Only one person attending had been to the dogs before so in a truly
‘try something new today’ style, we soaked up the excitement and
family atmosphere.”
