Music in Church

What wonderful acoustics our church building has!

Singing and music (and especially drumming) at the front of church echoes wonderfully around the building.

We are delighted when concerts are held in Church and this Advent we have had three quite different concerts. The music is enhanced by the beauty of the building and offers moments of spiritual insight to the life of our church.

Tonight an audience of over 80 gathered for a splendid concert by the Manchester Medical Students orchestra, conductor Simon Joyner. Music of Tchaikovsky (Nutcracker suite), Bizet, Handel, Borodin and Holst. It was splendid. Not only did the evening provide lovely music performed with enthusiasm and joy, but also a good amount of money was raised for Francis House Hospice. We look forward to their next concert!
