The Queen brings sunshine to Victoria Park

HM The Queen brought sunshine to St Chrysostom’s Parish this morning as she arrived at the Royal Eye Hospital, one of the hospitals within our Parish.

The Queen was here as part of her Jubilee tour to open the new hospitals in the recently built hospital complex.

The sun shone. Crowds gathered, flags were waved, children perched on the shoulders of parents and staff. It was a lovely way to start the day.

Sister Jabu, Stephen, Jack and Ginny bumped into one another at the railings. Sister Jabu, visiting from the Community of the Holy Name in Zululand, agreed that it was a lovely occasion as she snapped away with the Community’s camera.

Ginny, a member of St Chrysostom’s congregation is an Amercian student studying for her MA. She said that even she wished  for a moment that she was British!

The cries went up:

God Save the Queen!
