You may have noticed St John Chrysostom looking down on you as you enter St Chrysostom’s Church. He stands above the main door looking out on the parish.

But what about our little friend in the photograph here. (Is he related to the Protestant Gremlin that gets in our way from time to time 🙂 )

This chap looks down on us too but from a different part of the church to St John Chrysostom. Have you seen him? Go to the Anson Road side of Church, by the vestry block and look up, you’ll see him looking down on you.

Such a fun creature is called a Grotesque or a Chimera.

Any suggestions for a name?

  1. S. O. Crates says:

My vote is Friedrich. As in Friedrich Nietzsche. I think the little chap looks pretty devious and i think there’s the hint of a handlebar moustache, or is that just me?

  2. James Morgan says:

    I would call him:

    Rdr. James
