Greeting the Olympic torch

We had a fantastic morning in Church on Sunday, and it all started at 7.15am!

We greeted the Olympic torch as it journeyed through the parish at 7.15am. There was a lovely atmosphere as crowds gathered at the corner of Anson Road and Dickenson Road. We were fortunate to be at a place where one torch passed to another.

Then off to church we continued with an Olympic theme.

We had breakfast, games, music and drumming. We discovered that Tom is fantastic at limbo-ing, Bronwyn outshone at potato rolling, Pedia wasa great drummer, Amelia and Bethany made some lovely olympic torches.

And then at 11am a Mass which celebrated our diversity with readings and prayers in many different languages.

Pray that as the Olympic torch travels it may bring joy and enthusiasm to the communities through which it passes.
