St Chrysostom’s School has a new school prayer, which will be used this academic year.
Each Tuesday morning at St Chrysostom’s School there is a time of reflection and prayer led by members of our Church. We call this Munamato, – a Shona word meaning friendly gathering of people. Munamato lasts about 15 minutes, and is popular with the children, so much so we have to limit numbers. It has been good to welcome church people to join us this term, and yesterday Ann, Shabana, Toby and Fr Ian met with the children and Miss Turnbull (Reception teacher) and Miss Michael (the Headteacher) for Munamato.
Ahmed from Year 6 had come with a lovely prayer which he had written and we decided to adopt it as the school prayer for this academic year. At school assemblies today Fr Ian and Ahmed introduced the prayer to all the children of the school.
May God bless this school with faith and love and happiness.
May we be kind to each other and grow together in love. Amen.
Thank you to Ahmed for the prayer which will be displayed and used in all classes.
An extra thought: Ahmed told us that his parents say if we pray to God He never leaves us empty handed.
