Smile day :)

Smiling at St John’s School

Harvey Ball of Massachusetts, USA created the smiley face in 1963. Since then it has become probably the best known image of smiling in the world.

Harvey was concerned the smiley face should not be over commercialised and so had the idea of World Smile Day – a day devoted to smiles and kind acts.

October 5th is World Smile Day and today members of church went to both our church schools and gave a special smiley face sticker to everyone – all children and all teachers and other.

Smiling at St Chrysostom’s School

We visited each class in both schools and in every place we were greeted with smiles. So today we encouraged over 600 people to smile, and we encouraged them to pass on their smile.

A nice quotation from one teacher:

I am always smiling but you don’t always see it on my face!
