St Chrysostom’s presented five candidates for confirmation this evening.
We travelled into relatively unexplored territory as we went to the brand new Church of the Resurrection and St Barnabas, Beswick, for the deanery confirmation.
Not only was it a very light and comfortable church, it was also VERY warm – so much so we had to open a door to let the cool November evening air cool us down.
With characteristic enthusiasm and encouragement Bishop Mark confirmed twenty people form our deanery, and five of them were from St Chrysostom’s – the others came from St Cuthbert’s, Miles Platting, St Philip’s Gorton, and the Resurrection and St Barnabas Churches.
Our candidates were:
Amar and Aman Akhtar,
Toby Gibbons and Andrew Churba.
All our candidates were adults. Fr Ian said it was a ‘mopping up’ for us – our candidates were catching up on not having been confirmed in earlier years.
It was a special and joyful evening, the singing was good, lots of smiles and a friendly relaxed atmosphere.
Congratulations to all who were confirmed!
