Dancing for Nicholas

St Nic

The children’s representation
of St Nicholas

At the beginning of Advent, a season of hope, we celebrate St Nicholas, a saint whose life christian imagination has transformed into Santa Claus, but behind which is a man remembered for simple faith, goodness, kindness and love.

Children of St Chrysostom’s school held their annual celebration of St Nicholas after school today. They explored Nicholas’ life, heard about how he has inspired people over the centuries, and then they did a special dance in his honour.

And then a bell rang and rang and Santa Claus himself called by, and together with staff and with parents he joined the children joined in the celebration.

St Nicholas, patron saint of children, pray for us, and for all the children of our community.
