Thank you from Coogee Bay

Dear Friends at St Chrysostoms,

This is not so much a postcard from Australia as a thank you note for the thoughts and prayers which have supported during these past difficult weeks in the run up and following the death of my mother.

Coogee night

Coogee Bay, Sydney, NSW, Australia

Ian recently asked us to write about thin places where the barrier between heaven and earth seems to be transparent. This has not been so much a thin place but a thick time of incarnation when I have known love in the warmth and kindness from friends and strangers. The intensity of the grief and thankfulness for my mothers life has been  intensified by the heat ,the rich blues of sea and sky and the strong greens of the gum trees. In the midst of it all I have leapt about in waves ( and been dumped by one) snorkelled at the cove where I learnt to swim as an eight year old and travelled by ferries across the most beautiful harbour in he world ( not that I am prejudiced)

A happy new year to you all

With love
