Night truly blessed

Easter Candle at Vigil

Our Easter Candle at the Vigil

“One of the best Easter Vigils we’ve ever had” was a comment made independently by two church members today.

What did others say? Here are a selection of comments:

Fantastic      Awesome         Robustly Joyful, the Church looked wonderful

Uplifting       From the mystery of darkness to the marvel of light – truly wonderful

Deeply mystical and spiritual, celebratory time of the central mysteries of our faith.

Church liturgy and worship at it’s very best.

In his Easter Day sermon Fr Ian encouraged those present to look for the presence of the Risen Lord among us. At Benediction in the evening he pointed to some ways in which he personally felt Our Lord had worked among us in the Great Three Days, for example, in drawing us together from our many different places to feast and laugh together, in the way new people to our worship had felt they could fully participate, in the steps deeper into faith some had made, in the sense of joy and fun as we renewed our faith at the font, the welcome and encouragement given to one another, in the generosity of people with their time and  attention to detail…

From the Exsultet sing at the Vigil – “Night truly blessed when heaven is wedded to earth and all creation is reconciled with God!”
