Prayer Sunrise – beautiful, golden and silent

During the night shift!

Our 24 hours of prayer from 4th to 5th June, in Corpus Christi week, was wonderful.

Throughout the 24 hours there was always someone at prayer in the Anson (Blessed Sacrament) Chapel. Passers by called in to pray, and some people returned to pray again.

Such times of worship and prayer hallow our church and make it the special place it is.

Our webcam was also watched – people from around the world joined us too.

Some comments from those who prayed:

I feel grateful to have one hour with God!

Watching the sunrise through the east window whilst I prayed was one of the most special experiences I have had during my time at St Chrysostom’s.  2:46 am seems to be the perfect time for rekindling your relationship with God.

What a wonderful thing! (from Marilyn in Alabama)

A refreshing opportunity to pray, at an extraordinary time of day.

After looking at your amazing web page…….I wanna be your deacon! (from Jon in Missouri)

Brilliant idea The set up especially the flowers and candles is simply beautiful, golden and silent. I’ve visited three times! (from Margaret at the Sea of Galilee)
