Introducing the Revd Penny King

Penny, who was parish assistant at St Chrysostom’s for four years, and whom we encouraged through the ordination process was ordained on Sunday at Bolton Parish Church. Penny writes:

Bp Mark and Penelope King

Bishop Mark with Penny
after the ordination

As my home parish, St Chrysostom’s Church and people across the whole of St Chrysostom’s parish have played such a significant part in my journey to this point, through continual teaching, encouragement, love and prayers, for which I will always be thankful.

I’m now settling in to life as curate at St Elisabeth’s, Reddish, having been warmly welcomed into the community. I hope to visit St Chrysostom’s soon but in the meantime as I continue to rejoice in such a wonderful day and event in my life, and the privilege of the vocation to this ministry, I’m keeping firmly in mind the words of St John Chrysostom himself in mind, “Glory to God for all things!”
