Do you remember the day you were confirmed? We are sure twelve people will remember today.
Today was a wonderful day for Xarvae, Joseph, Mary, Jack, Bronwyn, Lauren lee, Tierra, Anish, Shakaylah, Chloe, Shacqueen and Iain. All twelve were confirmed at Church by Bishop Mark.
The day began busily at church and school as we prepared for the Bishop’s visit. Registers were filled in, the church prepared, pupil guides arranged to show the Bishop around the school, and two school dinners ordered for Bishop Mark and Fr Ian. After lunch Bishop Mark had a go at Mathletics and then the children gathered to walk down to Church led by Bishop Mark. The lovely procession was an inspiring witness to passers by and our community.
The worship was so special. The children sang well, Miss Michael presented the children to the Bishop, who reminded those being confirmed how each of them is special and loved by God. The act of Confirmation was moving and very spiritual, not only for those being confirmed but also to all there. The children were wonderful in their attention, prayerfulness and manner – a credit to school and church – and an inspiration to those there. At the end of the celebration we all joined in with one of the loudest THANKS BE TO GOD ever heard in St Chrysostom’s!
We thank God for the children’s faith and witness and we are also very grateful to Bishop Mark for his care and enthusiasm.
We are sure the children will remember their very special day.
