Third Station – Jesus Falls under the Heavy Cross

Jesus Falls under the Heavy Cross

We adore you O Christ and we bless you
Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world

Weakened from loss of blood, and from the pain, Jesus stumbles and falls under the weight of the cross. He who had walked the roads of Palestine, ministered tirelessly to those who needed him, and often prayed long into the night is now at his last gasp, and publicly humiliated – accepting and enduring to the end the pain of our human nature.

We thank you Lord Jesus that you willingly share our weakness, enable us, we pray to trust you to be with us when we fall, and encourage us to rise and still go on in your strength.

(Our reflections and prayers for the Stations of the Cross this year have been written for us by Sister Jean Mary CHN)
