Fourteenth Station – Jesus laid within the sepulchre

Jesus Laid within the Sepulchre

We adore you O Christ and we bless you
Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world

“Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth and laid it in his own new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock”

“In my end is my beginning”  What total poverty, the wheel comes full circle.  In birth and in death Jesus is dependent on a borrowed resting place . He accepts the hospitality of others.  For those who stayed and watched, the women, they can keep grief at bay as long as there is something to do for him

Jesus, for those you loved and who loved you the world is empty, the future a grey desolate waste.  We pray for all for whom today life is empty and meaningless, those whose loss is greater than they can bear.

We pray that they too, in time will know the wonder of your resurrection.

(Our reflections and prayers for the Stations of the Cross this year have been written for us by Sister Jean Mary CHN)
