Running together for Mary’s meals

Our fantastic runners ran after Mass today in Birchfields Park.

What a wonderfully varied team there was (from 4yrs to 50yrs+) and all encouraged one another.

It was great to have church members, along with staff and children from St Chrysostom’s and St John’s schools running.

The children set off with great enthusiasm and set a good pace. The youngest was determined to do a second 1km lap, and so the older children followed her.

The run was to raise money for the wonderful charity, Mary’s Meals, our annual May charity. We have been delighted to learn that during May this year Mary’s meals announced that they are now feeding over 1 million children around the world with school dinners every day.

So far, online, the run has raised £500 and more is expected. It’s not too late to give – just click here to visit our justgiving web page.
