A month with the Bible

We invite you to read and think over a verse of the Bible every day in January.

It’s sometimes said the Bible is the least read best seller in the world. Sometimes we can feel a little afraid of the Bible, or unsure of how to use it.

So members of our ministry team at St Chrysostom’s have been busy working on putting together “a month with the Bible” for St Chrysostom’s people to use starting on January 1st for the 31 days of January.

Verse-of-the-DayWe believe it will suit others beyond our church too – anyone is welcome to sign up.

The idea is very simple. People receive a Bible verse, by e mail (or for locals they can have a printed paper from Church). The verse is about 25 words. With the verse comes a couple of simple questions to think about and perhaps to pray over.

The daily e mail will also gives a link to the passage in which the Bible verse is found, with a prayer, for those who want to read a little more.

We believe this will help us to explore our faith using the Bible in a simple, gentle, and affirming way.

Why not try it out? You are very welcome to ‘subscribe’ for January, and do let others know 🙂 Each day ‘stands alone’ so you can join in during January if you wish.

All you need do now is sign up through our sign up form here:  http://eepurl.com/bI0Ac9

Then each day of January you’ll receive a brief e mail with the day’s Bible verse and an encouragement to reflect on the verse. Plus there will be the encouragement that others are doing it too.
