“Love in action” – at our Confirmation

We were blessed with a fantastic Confirmation today, at Church.

Many children from St Chrysostom’s School came down to Church to encourage and support their friends.

At lunchtime Bishop Mark began a visit of the school. He had a school dinner (a ‘Mary’s Meals special’ ) with a group of children, toured the school, and then led the children as they walked from school to church.

Eight children were baptised and confirmed, and six were confirmed.

Well over a hundred children attended with teachers and family members supporting. The children were so good, and there was a great sense of seriousness and joy in the worship. It was lovely to have Muslim children supporting and encouraging their Christian friends there too.

One person who was present said It was lovely to see everyone from school and community supporting these young people…

and another comment was There was a wonderful sense of God’s Holy Spirit moving among us…

Bishop Mark led a beautiful act of worship, as he prayed with all present, baptised and confirmed.

He had been inspired by words spoken to him many years earlier by Mother Theresa of Calcutta and he encouraged all present to take them to heart, and act on them.

Go to wherever you have been planted, make a difference. Be love in action.

Darnesha, Kaydia, Dominic, Jaden, Patrick, Anjelina, Ide, Reece, Paul, Helton, Zidan, Ethan, David and Kieron all said they would try their best.

May God bless them.

The challenge was to us all …

Will you make a difference, where you have been planted, and will you be love in action?

Here is a lovely photo of all who were confirmed showing their joy at this special occassion, and, at Bishop Mark’s suggestion remembering what they had for lunch as they said ‘Spaghetti and Chicken!’
