St John Chrysostom – significant events

As part of our honouring of our Patron Saint around the time of his feast day, we’re posting a variety of blog posts, and facebook posts, connected with him and his patronage. We celebrate his day on September 13th (the anniversary of his death), some churches prefer January 27th, to find out why click here to this blog post.

We’re posting through the ‘octave’ of the feast – that is on the day itself and the seven days following.

Our first post, on his feast day, is from Catholic Saints Online and is a timeline poster outlining the significant events of his life. Its a helpful summary. (But did he serve for ‘three years’ as Bishop of Constantinople? – We think it more likely to have been nine.)
