Mycah (Parish Assistant 15/16) sends: Christmas Greetings from Muhlenberg Lutheran Church in Harrisonburg, VA!
I’ve landed on my feet after living in Manchester alongside St C’s, and have moved from one church home to a new one. I am filling a brand new role with MLC, and helping to form what my duties are as a Communication and Ministry Specialist (I spend a lot of time concentrated on building up our social media presence, sending emails, and creating visuals about what we have going on in this large and vibrant church community! And this is just the first few months of settling in…). Pictured is our sanctuary from the balcony, and here I am with a Martin Luther Bobble head.
I now live a few hours away from my family, but they all come visit often and I’m making great new friends here. Most of my free time has been concentrated on moving into my own flat, and making it feel like home (with the help of visiting little siblings and many cups of tea and coffee in my Manchester Mug pictured.
One of my favorite projects I worked so far was encouraging people to be ‘Saintly’ by posing like an icon. Here is the result when I tried!
I miss the St Chrysostom’s community and Victoria Park area almost daily, but the amount of learning and growing I did with all of you has led to this wonderful new work here in Virginia where I can apply a loving and welcoming faith world view to my every day.
God’s Peace be with you all,
