January 4th: Wisdom’s Glory

Thursday January 4th

We continue to celebrate Christ’s birth – the miracle of God coming to live with us.

 Take time to be still and at peace.

Some verses to think about

Wisdom  is a reflection of eternal light,
a spotless mirror of the working of God,
and an image of his goodness.
Although she is but one, she can do all things,
and while remaining in herself, she renews all things;
in every generation she passes into holy souls
and makes them friends of God, and prophets; for God loves nothing so much as the person who lives with wisdom.    Wisdom 7:26-28

 For your prayers

  • Those who live in poverty and the homeless
  • A wise use of the world’s resources
  • Those without work
  • Pray for wisdom and serenity for yourself

 Our Father

Prayer for today – the ‘Serenity Prayer’

God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.
