#Posada 2018 Christmas tree dressing and Nuns

Our special correspondent reports on two #Posada2018 visits:

Posada visited the home of Mark and Paul on Saturday 8th December, a day when the children of their family had gathered to help their old uncles to dress the Christmas tree.

Noah, Jane and Beatrice, aged 5, 4 & 2 years respectively did an excellent job with the tree; so well in fact that their uncles have not had to move a thing. This is a special family occasion as Mark’s Mum Margaret who died in 2016 loved two things in particular, the first was having her family together and the second was Christmas time so the gathering is in part about honouring the memory of a wonderful Mum and Grandma and was made all the more special with guests Mary, Jospeh and Deborah.

In this picture are Jane and Bea with Uncle Paul, Noah decided to escape the camera! The lovely thing was that Jane and Noah both knew exactly who our Posada figures were although they struggled to guest the name of the donkey!

We prayed for all the children in the world who at this time of the year have to make long and difficult journeys for shelter.

Visit to the Convent of the Holy Name on 14th December:

On 14th December a small band of pilgrims made their way to the Convent of the Holy Name in Derby to visit our friends the sisters. Ann, Kevin and Paul drove down together along with Posada and after a few hold ups on the road were met at the convent door by Sister Jean Mary and then were joined by Sister Diana and Sister Lynfa. The Sisters seemed delighted to see us as we were them.

Over a sandwich lunch, we shared news of our parish and heard news from Derby, particularly about the order’s plans to move to a new home which may well be in the North West if they are able to find somewhere appropriate.

We left Derby with love and prayers from the sisters to bring back to all in Manchester. Please pray for Jean Mary, Diana, Lynfa and all at CHN that they may have a peaceful Christmas time and will find a new home that suits their needs soon (perhaps we can pray that they particularly find somewhere near us).
